What albums do popular opinions w/in the e-music community seem to hold in high regard that you dislike intensely?

Mine: Drukqs. Hate it. Predictable, boring, post-jungle retread.

and i do mean ALL music...

I think radiohead got boring after kid a...

i fucking HATE kool keith.

shittiest
rapper
EVER

I agree with you, eric, although "like spinning plates" and "i will" are two of their best songs and they followed kid a. but totally agree with you.

to the radiohead comments... I feel like In Rainbows was quite a good consolidation of their ideas and efforts and made a great record, musically. This may have been slightly overlooked given the other elements (hype) surrounding it. You can dig in quite a bit, and its very accessible.

almost everything autechre ever did sounds like the same generic tricks over and over to me. I never got it, except for tri-repetae.
Also, I loathe almost all "academic" music as well... there's got to be a better way to describe it.

man I love hating on music but I can't actually come up with anything specific right now. And hating on emo isn't really an unpopular music opinion, because as far as I know, everyone except for 5 people (the emo kids) hates emo

radiohead is overrated, but i don't detest them. i do agree they declined after kid a.
they won't play in my state(michigan) because of some quirk of thom york, who is turning into bono.

Q: whats the difference between thom york and god?
A: god doesn't think he's thom york.
i find daft punk kind of boring and monotonous.
rob zombie and marilyn manson are devoid of any real creativity & just do the same thing over & over.

BT. Yuk. Saw the DVD he released with all of the "rad" videos for his tracks. What a waste of time. If the DVD was a release of MV of lots of his songs over a span of time that didn't have anything to do with the other, then it'd be okay. But why why WHY the HELL WOULD YOU WASTE YOUR TIME WITH VISUALS FOR EVERY TRACK AND HAVE IT ALL RESEMBLE A PAP SMEAR??? So lame. Done.

While I like him a lot as a general idea man, and gladly own many of his albums, I've always thought Aphex Twin was a bit over rated. He sure did some great things with simple melodies and distorted beats. But none of his work comes close to having the depth, interest, or lasting appeal of contemporaneous releases like Spanners by Black Dog or Public Energy Number 1 by Speady J. I think of Aphex Twin as the George Lucas of electronic music. He had big ideas that he never executed particularly well. I suppose Drukqs was his Episode 1.

Lol about BT. That guy is just hilarious! And how about the DJ Rap album that came out in the late 90s? I think BT was her pal then (maybe he still is.) She, along with the Crystal Method, are my favorite examples of record labels trying to find marketable electronic music to push at people.

And I meant "Speedy J" in my previous post.

Fredo said: "Bjork."
w00t! anti-björkers unite! never been a fan.

but i have to agree that i've ended up liking things later in life that i once despised. that said, i don't think my opinion on björk's voice is ever going to change.

yeah i would have to +1 for radiohead and NIN. i just cannot stand either of their voices. to the point of not being able to listen to the music. i'm sure i am missing out...

I'm not ashamed to say I've never really liked Aphex much, or Radiohead, or Bola or Thomas Fehlmann. NIN I just loathe, same goes for the Prodigy and the Chemical Brothers. I find them stressful to listen to. oh yeah Bjork = bjoring
