LOL. I like some Bola (Shapes, basically that's about it...) but you hit the nail on the head here.
Also, I agree with you on Trip Hop. Except I like Tricky, at least Maxinquaye and PMT. All the rip off trip hop is as bad as the rip off drum n bass though. Cheesy lounge music that in its day was primarily consumed by overpaid fat white guys with too much hairgel and shiny button up shirts.
Hating on Richard Devine and V-Snares seems way too easy though. I really dig quite a bit of their stuff although certainly large chunks of both of their catalogs is total wank.

When I was younger I hated a lot of music.
Since then I like a lot of the music I used to hate.
In my old age I find it hard to get terribly upset over some one's music - it's all subjective innit?
It's not like I'm forced to listen to something I don't like (aside from occasions in the supermarket or wherever).

I find that I have generally less hate too, but if anything it's become more focused. I find it really obnoxious when people do the same old cookie cutter shit that everyone else of their age/class/scene is doing and puts on this front or attitude that it's something unique or special or genuine. bland, cheesy, and kind of dishonest. often this seems justified by cuteness or positivity, which is all the more gross to me because mostly that too is superficial.
when you admit (to yourself) that you are just another kid doing the same thing all the other kids are doing is when it seems that what's really unique is allowed to come out.
