hi folks..
some things are changing these days. a live toronto show is regretfully canceled (sorry to those who actually wanted to see me play) and i am currently looking for local people to play with, wherever, at any time.. please hit me up if you are in chicago and want to do some renegade live shows, or some art gallery shows if there are any happening.. i'm really open to whatever right now..
i am also promoting my new album titled: through luminescent passages I
to be released on may 15th, 2008 as a FREE MP3/AAC exposure. stay tuned for this. i am proud to know this will finally see the light of day. it has been a very long time coming.
it is actually a double disc, or male/female disc scenario. through luminescent passages II will be release sometime around the autumnal equinox and will be much louder and more noisy, possibly a bit darker.
through luminescent passages I and II have been lovingly mastered by joshua eustis (telefon tel aviv / sons of magdalene)
also promoting the launch of distance recordings, a new label that is being started by dominic dixon of talkingmakesnosense and myself. we have plans to release mostly free, high quality MP3/Digital format releases. we also have plans of releasing/re-releasing limited vinyl editions of our favorite albums. keep an eye out, we have some great, unheard-of artists on the horizon for everyone to enjoy.
love comes and love goes like drops into rivers into oceans. take care of the ones you love for they might be gone before you know it.
love love,
michael perry goodman

Will 'your new album' be any different from the version I have?
Looking forward to II. More stuff like Springtime Phasewaves I hope.

i'm not sure what version you have, morgan. you probably have the real version.
yeah II will be pretty noisy.
laird, the might breed, but then it would be like that movie gremlins.

thanks... my music probably isn't as significant as it used to be, but at least now i can put this stuff out and people will actually listen to it. context works for me in that way.
erik, yeah hopefully next year i will be releasing a double LP on vinyl, depending on my financial situation. also have plans for a couple EPs and another LP next year. a lot of this material is already finished, i have hours worth of audio i could use, but i'm not trying to choke the subcultural wind pipe. not yet anyway.
as far as distance recordings goes, we seriouly have a bunch of really awesome, relatively unheard-of talent ready to give us music to put out. a couple female pianists / vocalists. a couple bands. and some hopefully bigger name releases by people who shall remain nameless until they commit to doing something.

I look forward to hearing your new album! I still greatly enjoy listening to that Clint Mansel remix you did a few years ago.

it's going to be out, in full, fore free, next week.
with artwork and print labels and everything.
and as it happens (quite on purpose) the may 15th release date is my birthday. my good friend QUO is also releasing an album this week, so we're doing an album release party thinger on may 16th. if you're in chicago, you should come and hang out and watch me get absurdly drunk and make a fool of myself. i might even smash a beer glass on accident like i did at the kranky show.
nick, thanks a lot man. that's actually probably my favorite work i've ever done.
also, laird.. there's two tracks from the album on implex grace myspaz page.. also, one different one on the distance recordings myspaz page.
um.. what else.. oh i will be doing a remix for QUO. his track called "ancient electric secret" will get the implex grace dsp treatments. so yeah, stay tuned for that if you are interested.
here's links:

distance recordings: link
other good links:

QUO: link (this is like really dubby ambient psych music..)
