maybe you've read my blog about my return to france after nearly 1 year in australia.
i was sad, and it took me a while to get used to shitty france.
it's been better for a month or so, and i'd found a new dream, a new purpose: getting a green card to work in the USA and spend a long time there maybe.
and i just learnt that i missed the Lottery...
so next year... but France looks shittier and shittier every day now.
so i'm sad again.

Compared to the rest of the world, race is a nonissue in america.
and you'll find strange people here FOREVER. But I'm tired of the strange people around me right now, so I'm leaving my region. America is a really, really different place depending on where you choose to go. They'd think you were so cool for having a french accent in some places, and hate you in other places.
The other day I was giving a child a speech/language test, and I said: give the definition of "immigrant". She thought for a moment and said "umm, someone you hate?" ( Bear in mind, nearly retarded 8 year old.)

and I said "compared to." The Italians and swiss I knew were pretty openly racist. As I was driving across the swiss border with my host family, they just waved us through. I said "wow that was the easiest border crossing I've ever seen." My exchange father said "yes, they are just just checking to see that we look european."
