--> I got my diploma today, on my birthday. Thats good, since I didn't get anything else. You see, thats because I'M MOVIN OUTTA HERE.
After a long discussion, my wife and I decided that its high time we stopped being so responsible, and time we started getting aggressive about things we wanted. And atop that list, is a nice place to live on the West coast. Since she has a nice job offer on the Kitsap Peninsula, we'll be going there.

Thats a map of my trip. OMFG is that ever a long way. If you stretch it out straight, you can go all the way from Ho Chi Minh City to Perth Australia. Or all the way from Rome to central Africa. And I'm about to drive that. $800 in gasoline by my estimate. Another $1885 to move all of our stuff by a freight company.
I am petrified. I have no job, no idea where I'll be living, nothing. Gonna have our stuff held at a storage center for a few days while we drive around.
SO LOOKOUT, HIPPIES!
I'm coming to town to gawk at your harbor seals and fish throwers at your farmers markets, and get a job or go broke trying.

OR DRIVE TO TACOMA

Or buy a waffle-maker and just stay home, get fat off waffles.

this is really exciting ds! It's a little further away than we'd hoped you'd be, but still an easy three hour roadtrip. So yeah, party at John's house!

my house is closed to hippies

is that why I had to sleep in the garage when I stayed?

are we allowed at the store? hippies eat a lot

especially things with waffle-shaped indentations

he also said

"the internet is full of pr0n
all of which I want to d'load"

"especially that which involves waffles"

damn, you're pretty far out into the bremolo (that's what they call it ya know)

bremerton...

ackk... i like tacoma better... i used to work out there.. lots of navy folk in bremerton with the base there..

hell of a trip..

I want access to seattle, but I want a quiet house to go home to, you know? I'm leaning toward finding a house to rent in gig harbor, because it's closer to tacoma. Tacoma is where I hope to find employment, since the peninsula is pretty rural and harder to find jobs.
I looked at tons and tons of decent urban housing in seattle proper. But I'd rather get something cheap and quiet for a year or two before I figure out where I want to go. This is just kind of a general westward movement for us.

Tips:

Sequim is pronounced "squimmm", not "seck-we-am".
Puyallup is pronounced "pyall-up", not "pull-aye-up" or "pooey al up" or any such nonsense.
