Barry Threw writes:
"STEIM is a vital computer music research institution in the tradition of CCRMA, CNMAT, and IRCAM. They have developed a great deal of technology in conjunction with electronic music artists, including the Cracklebox and Laetitia Sonomi’s Lady’s Glove.
They now seem to be in a bit of financial trouble.
The call for support is out to help fundamental research center STEIM keep their funding secure."
Basically, they need folks to tell their government that they have an international impact beyond a local niche audience. Write a letter if you love steim!

sent mine too.. it's really important for electronic music in the Netherlands if not in the rest of the world, in the last forty years STEIM has proven to be a great influence in this area, so fill in link (it's the second link in the main post), it's a form so that makes it even easier!
