I had to come back to this blog as it makes me so happy. Such a good find, especially with today's ridiculous eBay-inflated vintage synth market.

Holy crap that pedal is indeed beautiful! Is that a sequencer?

this pisses me off, you are a big fucker for this find. I hate you.

about the title of this thread: how is finding a juno 106 in a thrift store a cliche? and more importantly: how do i become a part of this cliche?

and this pedal?

so many questions...

I'd have to go with sohcahtoa's guess and say it's a fwd/rev 16 step CV sequencer. Does it have an external clock? Come to think of it, I don't see a gate out either.
Nice score on the 106, but keep in mind that dead voice problem is no joke. It WILL go out from regular use at some point. There's another problem I've heard about them lately where the voice mix dies, but I think that's just a transistor.

i cheated and did some googling it seems to be a step sequencer tremolo

yeah if i had just found a $100 juno 106 i would turn around and sell it to pay for a juno 60 or 6. only get the 6 if you don't care about patch storage though.

i got my juno 6 for free years ago.
it was leaning against a wall with a signed that said "free"
the keys were dirty with what looked like blood.
it works fine with the right ac jack on the wall/power strip/ac extension cord combination, and only when it's connected to a mixer or other grounded equipment...

hoooo k
your synth couldve been exhibit a
death by juno

eeep! didnt expect so many replies!

nagrom: it's the salvation army on or near the corner gilford and fabre or garnier, right next to the Desjardins

adcBicycle: for a broken one where you know the problem is only the chips, its still not a bad score! in montreal, most of these usually go for at least $500, usually 600-700-800 though.

jogn: just from some of the local panhandlers

seanh: I meant loving a 106 is cliché, because theyre so popular. I think I would of prefered a juno 60, missing out on this deal was a technical impossibility.

sweettrip: sounds like the grounding that came ondone off the output jack or near it. might be wrong though

yeah umm the pedal. a step-sequenced tremolo. liek the zvex seek trem but with more steps and features. it rocks!

I love cheap gear stories. I too have enjoyed some of the luck. My first was a Moog MG-1 for under $20.

My last was a DX-7 for $50 (with the original box).

Of course the internal batter is dead though.

two stellar deals, jeez! the DX-7 is awesome. I'm really interested in FM synthesis though have zero experience with it.

awesome only one thing better than that and that's a juno 6

actually my juno 6 started dying, the voices were going on certain keys but then it miraculously healed itself

And i was feeling really good about the AUD $350 I just paid for a HS60 (Juno 106 in pyjamas).
