haven't seen this movie but i saw 24hour party people for the 3rd time the other day. it gets funnier every time... but is of course profound or something too. steve coogan is great.

thehydrax asked: which one? the documentary or the movie with actors? the actor one is pretty good but it does help if you've read Deborah Curtis' book.

sorry, i forgot to mention it is "control"

no need to hate on New Order. There were some moments.......

(then they jumped the shark - cleared it by 100 yards, came back around, jumped the shark again - this time setting a record)

yes, i should preface by saying i like new order up to technique- although regret was a nice track. substance is their best.

i think i like no more cause i heard them first. jd was fine, but his voice bugged me.

(Nutso rant)

I was all about Iron Maiden and Def Leppard until I stole this CD from my big brother.

New Order changed my life after that..(and "Everyday is like Sunday"). I remember my brother telling me how Joy Division was similar,, so I went back to the comp. it just never clicked for me then. Going back I like it more.. but maybe just because of my new found love for any string synth. And now that I have more musical knowledge.. I just find more new wave/punk that I relate much more too.

Undue attention is all I say. Weird what death does to people ... like in the case with Gram Parsons... didn't make him all that famous.

New Order was the light at the end of the tunnel for me in my childhood, .. it made me really really want to make music and express myself... later .. after the Nirvana boom.. kids actually started to talk to me about music and my life got much better. I think Ian Curtis would be happy to know his death prevented someone else's misery.

Yes .. Substance is the best. Proving they are not an album band.

The other can of worms I come across is New Order vs. The Cure.

Cure wins!! especially if you judge them by their worst songs. Bad Cure songs are usually still something I would never have to talent to write... Bad New Order songs are often and embarassing for everyone involved.

Young Offender is the last good New Order song. IMO

damn my poor post-work brain! edit please..

derp! should have looked first.. this is the comp. That other would've been awesome at an early age too. Do yourselve's a favor and listen to Mandinka again! ;) I miss the whole irish girl singer thing for some odd reason..

hey look- it's my high school mixtape!!!

i saw sinead when i was 15 and was so drunk that i slept on my floor seat for the entire opening act. then i woke up and ran to the bathroom and puked, and was fine by the time she came on. ah youth..... i'm sure everyone else there hated me.

unfortunately i wasn't into joy division until after they broke up, but i was intrigued witht their unusual album covers

once i heard them, i was instantly hooked. i like them better than new order because they had a punkier, unpolished sound
(like "warsaw") i like new order too, but they're a whole different kind of music.

I thought Control seemed like an over stylized long music video personally, I have yet to see the Documentary.

i think Perfect Kiss is not only NO's best song, but the best video ever made

The movie doesn't quite do it for me. yeah new order up to technique, after that it's pfffft.

lol. 15 year old frn sounds hilarious.

Mmmh... the one by ANton Corbijn ?
I'd rather go for "24 hours party people" instead.
