--> This months Sound on Sound magazine carries an excellent intro article on Pure Data aka PD , by the same creator of Max but with one big difference, it's free.

It's in the same league of complexity . Personnally I've only been using made up patches , none of my own but there are wicked things to be said about it !

Humm interesting, i shall have to pick up a copy. Have been thinking about having a dabble with pd for a while

heeffff...

I tried pure data... so hard !

Recent blogs: first blog!

I'll have to read that when it becomes a linkable article. Agreed Pure Data takes the "Use alot to make a little" approach, but that's why its open source. The tutorial examples are actually pretty good.

I just wish I could get MIDI Out timing to be reliable in Windows. Sleepgrain or no audio doesn't seem to help.

Two patches I'm hosting: link

RR : have been using both since you announced them on the former EM411 ... especially the chopchop me like ;-)

I fixed a MIDI bug for the arpeggiators in the other one too. Seems to work better, at least using this MIDI loopback prg: link
One of these days I'm gonna figure out how to write manual sequences into the order table in chopchop. If I do, I'll certainly post it here.

consider s0s shoplifted.

thanks for the heads up! I've been curious about this.
