--> Maybe it's a bit late in the game to be attempting to build muscle mass, but, damn it, I'm sick of having grover body and avoiding taking my shirt off in the presence of another human being! (Grover body is skinny all over but with massive mid section. NOT attractive!)

A couple years ago I had some digestion issues and went on an insane diet, losing 40 pounds. It didn't solve my problem, and hell, at 140 pounds I was way too skinny, so I began to eat sugar and fun things again. I felt better! My symptoms subsided. Hooray! A year later I had gained nearly 50 pounds and got as fat as I have ever been in my life, approaching 190 pounds.

So, I have begun to train. And basically feel like a piece of damp cardboard set in a snowy driveway which has been warn down repeatedly by the wheels of an SUV. IT HURTS!

I'm writing this blog to sort of make this more serious. Now I can't wimp out.

Note to bodo and jchot: make sure you get your child, when the time is right, to do some form of solid physical activity because it sucks to have to do this in your late thirties.

Wii Fit. No joke. Add that to your general fitness routine... and enjoy yourself with it. It's really fun. And, of course, eat smaller portions w less processed carbs. You may consider getting a retail job where you stand and walk all day. I did, and I lost 10 pounds in one month bringing half-sandwiches to work for lunch 'cause I was po. It got me back into exercising again.

Yay, I went from 187 to 174 in about a month and a half or so now. Actually probably closer to two months. And I seem to be sprouting some muscles on my chest, which is... well I'm like a 15 year old really, wondering at the changes. Kinda sad really. ;)

congratulations!

You are becoming supergrover!

hahah, indeed. Still have the f'ing gut!

funny.. my weight went down and then went back up. the missus got wii-fit which I played for a week and then stopped. it was pretty fun though, I'd probably get a lot out of coming back to that. I think i'm gonna get a bike to ride around but I can only really afford a costco bike. oh well better than nothin.

i lost too much weight!!! (no time to eat)

72kilos @ 1,84m is SKINNY!!

yeah, it's equally unhealthy to be under weight. Today my trainer started me out on some boxing, as he's an ex boxer. I found that I felt a bit like a spaz, but it's not as bad as I thought. Actually I liked it. Sort of. Jumping rope really kicked my ass too. He's recommending boxing because, well, he used to be a boxer himself, but he said it works on coordination and builds upper body strength incredibly. Also it's less boring than weight training. Is there a wii boxing game yet? That would be utra cool, if the wii control was built into your gloves. haha.
