I ripped the mp3 files from em411.com/radio.php
file: REMOVED for 404 - SORRY!
its malformed XML file but XSPF format i think?
anyways, the VALID files are 1.77 Gigabytes. a whopping 3 hours of tunes.

I disliked a whole two of the songs there and won't say which. Point is, its nearly all printable, finely made and pretty amazing when you think about a whole music industry full of complete junk this last four years (or a few decades?)

Point is signal-tonoise -> em411 == REALLY GREAT ! !

Thanks to everyone for making music to code by / play by work by whatever

a while ago i tried to turn the rss feed of the releases into a podcast so every new tune would be downloaded automatically on my external drive. i didn't manage to get anywhere near but that's probably because i suck at web programming. anyone interested in making a script that does that?

oh hey, sorry about my songs!

oh. no. i should've said all the songs were pefect. =)
one was mine, as I can't stand to hear it anymore and one was cut off at 9 seconds with a short painful sound. those sucked =)
@delete: there's a python script for downloading XSPF/M3U/playlists link

i manually opened the file, did search and replace in text editor until I had a href tags on both sides of the mp3 filenenames. stupid, i know.
then resaved as a really poorly coded HTML file. Firefox addon "download helper" can be configured to download "mp3" and all at once. =))

i whole heartedly support this blog.

you're right, of course. the em411 release section has been really solid lately. and the radio at work has been weak. computer recording has really opened things up to allow everyone to make quality recordings and the amount of creativity that has been unleashed is amazing. we're all pioneers, aren't we? how exciting!

agreed 100%...some top top stuff on here, and it is even more amazing when you compare it to the shit that makes money...etc.

in fact, i have been ranting a lot about this shit recently. we've been trying to do some work with a wicked musical collective. they emailed to say we have barely enough money to pay musicians at all (let alone a living wage)...and then Paris Hilton makes a mint. makes me fucking mad.

Not that I enjoy repeating myself, but at every opportunity I tell people interested in em to listen to the releases here. Since 2003 I have unwaveringly proclaimed em411 as the focal point of the pioneering spirit in ALL music, not just music generated with a computer. To add to sAmSKi's comment, it goes back to the theory that the public at large have an immature sense of aesthetic, being numbed by constant exposure to mediocrity and "safe" commercial art. This site is anything but, and I don't always like everything here, since I'm more of an analog nut, but those who love what they do and put their heart and soul into their releases shows every time, and I always cherish those.

Lead teh way folks, you rock!

Yeah, c'mon

When the music's over
When the music's over, yeah
When the music's over
Turn out the lights
Turn out the lights
Turn out the lights, yeah

When the music's over
When the music's over
When the music's over
Turn out the lights
Turn out the lights
Turn out the lights

For the music is your special friend
Dance on fire as it intends
Music is your only friend
Until the end
Until the end
Until the end

Cancel my subscription to the Resurrection
Send my credentials to the House of Detention
I got some friends inside

The face in the mirror won't stop
The girl in the window won't drop
A feast of friends
"Alive!" she cried
Waitin' for me
Outside!

Before I sink
Into the big sleep
I want to hear
I want to hear
The scream of the butterfly

Come back, baby
Back into my arm
We're gettin' tired of hangin' around
Waitin' around with our heads to the ground

I hear a very gentle sound
Very near yet very far
Very soft, yeah, very clear
Come today, come today

What have they done to the earth?
What have they done to our fair sister?
Ravaged and plundered and ripped her and bit her
Stuck her with knives in the side of the dawn
And tied her with fences and dragged her down

I hear a very gentle sound
With your ear down to the ground
We want the world and we want it...
We want the world and we want it...
Now
Now?
Now!

Persian night, babe
See the light, babe
Save us!
Jesus!
Save us!

So when the music's over
When the music's over, yeah
When the music's over
Turn out the lights
Turn out the lights
Turn out the lights

Well the music is your special friend
Dance on fire as it intends
Music is your only friend
Until the end
Until the end
Until the end!

oh sorry, that was probably mine!
=)
I envy your recognition

indeed. i've been honored to be a part of this, though i realize my stuff is probably on the lower end of the spectrum. i live in the south and electronic music isn't very big here (maybe two people i've known knew that there was such a thing as electronic music outside of techno)... but since i started posting here i've been shown nothing but support and given real, usable, honest commentary from people who obviously know what they're talking about. i've heard some amazing pieces on this site and can't understand why more of you folks aren't raking in those crazy dollars touring around europe and asia and all that. keep it up EMers.
