Mangoes are really slimy, I'm not sure whether I like them or not.

I think it's clear from the context that I was saying that the best fruit ever is Poison Oak/Ivy.
Duh.

Mangos are so great! How can you not love their sweet fragrant flavor? I wouldn't call them slimey, but maybe slick?

good way to slice a mango:
cut the meatier chunks off the side along the flat part of the seed. with the fleshy part facing you, score the mango in a grid without puncturing the skin. then press the skin of the mango up towards the scores you just made (effectively turning it inside-out) and you'll have a bunch of mango cubes that are easy to bite off. sweet!
i'm currently on a big chili-spiced dry mango kick. i love that shit. mango is 2nd only to watermelon. i eat 1/4 of a watermelon every day in the summer... no joke.

mango tastes fine, but its a little stringy. i don't like the strings stuck between my teeth. if you cube it you don't really have to deal with the stringiness.
in australia i had a passionfruit once and it was amazing. lots of seeds, but it tasted really good.
fresh southern ontario golden delicious apples are pretty much the best thing ever, though. when they're allowed to ripen on the tree they get enormous. and if you get them fresh they are really crisp and sweet. if they're ripened off the tree they get a little mealy, i find.
i think that fresh local stuff is pretty much the best wherever you are.

I understand that ripe Oregon strawberries are totally amazing. However, I have lousy strawberry sense, so I can't tell.
In veggie land, it's all about fresh-picked sweet corn. OMFG. Fresh of the stalk, you can eat the fucker raw it's so delicious.

I used to hate papaya, but recently my taste changed and I now love it. It's supposedly really good for the digestion too. Does anyone know if fruits are fattening?
