i received my monome 128 link about a month ago, and i have to say i love it. i think ive finally found my instrument, it just feels right.

i dont have max/msp or anything, but the runtime of max seems to run all the apps fine. it was pretty tricky to get set up, with the drivers, and settings and whatnot, but well worth it.

ive made some basic videos of it and posted them to vimeo link

there are many different apps ppl have made for it, from basic sequencers, to crazy live looping resequencing awesomeness. it was a bit expensive, 800$, but i think ill keep it forever, and probably get more and more use out of it as more apps become available.. theres video controlling ones.. games like tetris, all sorts of shit.

now thats a good looking work area. love the microKontrol; the monome 128 looks amazing. you need to add a few beer bottles and an overflowing ashtray and you're in business.
yeah im all done with cigs.. but yeah

i wonder whats in that tin?
beautiful!
possibly that other thing i'm all done with smoking?

link <--heres a larger one, kinda blurry though. i think it was my excitement. made for blurs.
i think its the ability to have some sync going on, but also have it be totally live that makes me feel this is my instrument. its like a wonderful compromise between computers and hardware instruments. the visual feedback is simplified, and somehow by this it ends up being more useful. lots of happy accidents, like with boiingg, a sortof bouncing ball sequencer, notes that drop at differnt hights will land with other notes at times, or by themselves, creating variations. its like a generative process that is controlable enough to really jam out on.
nice
though poop....
yes! i too love my 128. such a wonderful piece of art.
i think that i'm addicted to monomes... i am seriously considering building a kit 40h.
i think i want another 128, for my other hand..
