--> i received my monome 128 link about a month ago, and i have to say i love it. i think ive finally found my instrument, it just feels right.

i dont have max/msp or anything, but the runtime of max seems to run all the apps fine. it was pretty tricky to get set up, with the drivers, and settings and whatnot, but well worth it.

ive made some basic videos of it and posted them to vimeo link

there are many different apps ppl have made for it, from basic sequencers, to crazy live looping resequencing awesomeness. it was a bit expensive, 800$, but i think ill keep it forever, and probably get more and more use out of it as more apps become available.. theres video controlling ones.. games like tetris, all sorts of shit.

that's so freakin expensive!!!

ummmmm, this is dope, never even seen it, congrats

what exactly do those things do? they're hella open ended right? it can be used as a 2d step seq right?

is there a link to an article that gives a basic description as to what it does? it triggers samples from?

holly shit i just a video!!!!!!!!!!

that shit is amazing

link <-- the penguins are for this, there about 95% done. still need to mccaig my tunes for proper usb penguin release though.

electrodan: yeah 2d seq, live looper, artifitial life midi trigger.. u name it
new stuff every month. you can even have have more than one app on a device. like with my 128 i could have a sequencer and a live looper running on each half of the device.

it can trigger samples of course.. but also ppl have made apps to trigger video, or trigger an old midi synth like i did in those videos.

it uses osc, and also can do midi. so you can have osc between monome and max/msp (i use the runtime) and then max will output midi, which then can be used in ableton or whatnot, or on your hardware synth.

fuck. that video is so awful. i should replace it with a better one.

it starts slow but builds into something pretty rad imo.

my monome vids are aweful. not even songs, just synth wank

I'm building an 80h out of two 40h kits at the moment. I've been at it for some months now. The problem is that once the kits are soldered and working it's too easy to get distracted and start playing about with them instead of finishing off the enclosures. Still, should be there soon though.

videoz or stfu!!
