i received my monome 128 link about a month ago, and i have to say i love it. i think ive finally found my instrument, it just feels right.
i dont have max/msp or anything, but the runtime of max seems to run all the apps fine. it was pretty tricky to get set up, with the drivers, and settings and whatnot, but well worth it.
ive made some basic videos of it and posted them to vimeo link
there are many different apps ppl have made for it, from basic sequencers, to crazy live looping resequencing awesomeness. it was a bit expensive, 800$, but i think ill keep it forever, and probably get more and more use out of it as more apps become available.. theres video controlling ones.. games like tetris, all sorts of shit.

matt - you have one as well? which one?
so you can record something into live, or have files set up in live, it can then take that audio and map it out along the grid line and you can re-trigger it?
i am thinking of this b/c this would be SOOOOOOOOO helpful for playing out, you just organize all your tracks into separate parts, then this triggers those parts, in essence remxing your tracks live???
does that make any sense, i am up to early for a sat, trying to do like 5 million things, haha

i got 2 of the 64 kits and made a double link
the monome itself does nothing... just buttons that light up, but there's all sorts of programs out there that do the sampling, synthesizing, sequencing etc.
And yeah, i believe there's ways to use it with live.

yeah, molar, the monome vst, works great with live
also, with mlr, you can drop samples on and remix on the fly or sample your computers input, into several buffers, and remix that.
many of the apps output midi, so you could have them triggering say an instance of impulse, or whatever.

adc: i like your double! its probably way easier to split. how about using it all with one app? done that yet?

yeah flin is cool.. but seems theres no note off button fuction. kinda annoying
i like apps that dont neccesarily require me to use the mouse and screen.. would love if flin had a note off button like boiingg. the note length buisness is great though.

yeah, using with one app is fine, you just give them both the same prefix but a different orientation number.
agreed, the no off button is annoying... you can do it on the computer though...
i tried to make a video once... and couldn't figure out how to have mlr record a file.

i dont know if any of this has to do with your probs adc, but all stuff i had to figure out over time:
some things to remember for mlr live sampling: make sure the input slider is turned up. make sure max is recognizing your audio input. the recording buffers each have a number so you can set rows to different record buffers. down in the corner theres a recorder thing, use the arrows to choose the number you want, press go, you should see the waveform box show the recording after a few seconds. also: mlr aes edit has enhanced live looping buisness.
or maybe you are talking about recording all the audio? i think you can do that in the options dialog. or maybe your talking about mlt recording your button presses? you must master those function keys. maybe your talking about preset saving? seems pretty staight forward to me.

yeah, it's with recording the audio. I actually had the whole track played through and video recorded with no audio... the audio file came out blank... maybe i had the mixer settings set wrong or something... thanks for the t to the i to the p's though cc
