Hey all,
Looking at the possibility of putting ads on my new bl0rg: link
I'm officially affiliated with Musician's Friend and Guitar Center, although I've not used eother of them (not the best for non-US residents sometimes).
Anyway, what are your experiences? If I were to give preferential treatment to one or the other, which would you recommend I choose?
thx - stv

MF and GC are essentially walmart for music gear. sweetwater is much much better but there's a lot of regional/local proaudio and synth shops around these days that i go to first. i'll get cables at GC if i absolutely have to but otherwise avoid it like the plague.
I worked at a GC for week. worst job i ever had.

btw- MF and GC are the same company these days. GC bought MF like 10 years ago or something.

just wanted to give a nod to audiomidi. not sure if they are the best to advertise with since they are a smaller operation, but i like them better than sweetwater because they are slightly cheaper, and don't have a chaz or tony call me up every month badgering me to buy a genelec surround system.
+1 on GC being a gigantic turd.

lol. @ highdroppod.
audiomidi is great
analogue haven is great
novamusik is great
mercenary audio is great
bayview proaudio is great and is regional (seattle) so shipping is always super fast and a little cheaper.
vintage king is great
i dealt w/frontend audio once and they were good as well but i have less experience w/them. the others i've listed have been excellent to deal with.

While we're talking online retailers, I must give a big thumbs down to Rogue Music. I bought a Kenton Pro2000 from them with a Cashier's Check and 2 weeks later they said they'd not received payment. I had to fax them the bank transaction as proof before they shipped me the unit. Fuckers tried to rip me off.
Yeah audiomidi rulez. GC can go eat a bowl of cock. I go to GC and the pro-audio guys all run for cover because I ask them questions they can't answer.

like, what is a balanced input? how do you hook up a pair of speakers? Can you tie your own shoes? Name one band that's not metal? In what state would you find the capitol of California?
