I finally got a monomachine MKI used, and now my dream setup is complete, and I must say that after jamming with it this morning (just the monomachine, in fact), it is absolutely perfect. I finally have the synth sounds I was lacking from the machinedrum, and I am able to sequence 4 bars, which fits in really well. For all the weird sounds and percussive stuff I have the MD which I know pretty well now (at least for the stuff I want out of it), but now I can add all this weird effect/synth stuff form the monomachine, which is radest.
And with my sweet little controller (I am working on another one for the mnm), I can jam the MD while switching stuff on the main interface etc...
Here is my first jam on the monomachine:

I am a complete newbie on this machine though, and it is very different from the machinedrum.

The machinedrums would have to go out of style and start selling for cheap if they were to truly follow the 808/303... and I don't see that happening

ive just put together a new dream setup with synth + drum machine- its a lot bigger and heavy than those elektrons but i think its at least as beautiful- and if i get round to making a wooden cabinet for it then it will be MORE beautiful (and even heavier)

the pics and mp3's will have to wait until its finished so i guess ill have to stfu for now
i can tell you it consists of tx81z,hr16,mmt8,studio quad,mb76 and 2x 3630's and WILL look and sound ace but still wont be as capable as your elektrons

wow supersweet. I'm not sure about the capability, I guess when you have a setup that allows you to be quite limitless in what it can do, and yours sure sounds like that, you can go and delve deep into it and never come back out without finding new stuff. and that's the magic!

there are definitely limits that play a big part in defining what you do in terms of set length/song structure etc. can you have a lot of patterns and different sounds on those machines or is the memory capacity something you always need to be aware of?
