where have I heard that name before??
Recent blogs: Signing Off, Audio OS?, suspended

totally respect the dude for keeping a face off of the music. i am of the opinion that your image is irrelevant, especially in electronic music. who gives a shit what you look like or what your name is when you make awesome music?

Burial's more of a dubstep producer than drum n bass.

pawel, you are like a bad mime

daswesen showed me Burial... i wasn't convinced, but i finally listened to the whole album and i have to recognize it's really awesome, and pretty unusually sounding, especially on studio monitors.

I'm still not convinced, but yes, it is awesome. I'm the same way about Trentemoeller though. Definitely prefer Various Production in terms of dark dubstep sound though. Burial has this 90s eurodance vibe that rubs me the wrong way (nicely though).

i haven't heard such consistant releases by anyone of recent years.

i can listen to archangel 5 times in a row and not get bored. there
is very little music out there at the moment that does that for me.
thanks will!

Hm, I definitely don't think it sounds like Trentemoller.. who I think are much more 'designer' music, created for dancefloors (however more interesting than the usual minimal 12") where I find that Burial puts together all the parts I really loved about jungle, drum 'n bass and rave from '96 until 2000 and blends them in this kind of haze of nostalgic memories and fresh excitement at the same time, but never evolving into a simplistic standard dancefloor tune.
oh yeah, I should have clarified, i didn't mean to compare them. but they both kind of grabbed my attention through some form of media hype - though they both share the "designed soundscapes" moniker it's very different music of course.

nostalgic memories is the point with burial i reckon, though he does overdo the vocals for my tastes. good stuff still.

burial seems like a nice guy

Oh ... never knew he was a secret. meh ...

As for gimmicks... I thought of a new one for bands.. be that band that sails everywhere... many people would die in the process though..
