If you're new to Mixits, here's the deal:
For the first week of the month, people upload samples (non-copyrighted, legal samples, preferably your own recordings) - at the end of the week, the samples become available to everyone to download --
then the Mixit begins -- you have three weeks to make a track using only those samples as source material.
You can stretch, manipulate, warp, reverse, mangle, and run your samples through effects and other nasty things - but ALL sounds in your track must be derived from the source samples.
At the end of the month, submissions are due and the tracks are made available for all to hear, comment on, etc. -- meanwhile, samples are accepted for the next Mixit, and it starts all over again.
It's a great way to hear new music, add to your sample library, get feedback on your work, interact with other sample manipulating freaks, and has 30% more cheese than the other leading brands.
