at the apple world wide developers conference today, steve jobs introduced the new MacPro. this replaces the g5 towers with two core duo Xeon chips up to 3GHz each. two optical drives, space for 4 hard drives, 4 PCIe slots in addition to the graphics card. runs MUCH cooler than the g5 so there's less need for the over-the-top cooling of the g5 and thus more room in the case for the good stuff.
64-bit, 128-bit vector engine, up to 16GB ram, can fit 2TB storage internally.

this is what ive been waiting for.
though i didnt wait to spend the money i had saved.
so, i guess by the time i save up 2500 again they may have worked some bugs out.
the 1.33 ghz fsb is pretty hot. and using xenon dual cores. yo. can one use non apple displays with mac pros? 700$ seems a little expensive for a monitor.
