Hi peepz,
I hope it's not bothering people too much if I blog about company stuff here, but I'm very proud to announce a new firmware for the Midi Command, and a Java application that allows you to try it out on your PC or Mac:

It allows you to play the MachineDrum as a 16-voice polyphonic synthesizer. Just plug the MIDI Command into the MachineDrum and add a MIDI keyboard, and play all the machines you ever dream of as a polyphonic synthesizer. Discover how you can turn a snare drum into an awesome Rhodes sound, how you can layer noise with samples to emulate wavescanning monomachine sounds, and much much more.
This is such an incredible firmware that it makes the MachienDrum into a completely different instrument. I was trying out things for fun and I nearly fell out of my chair when I realized how deep this is (actuel as my witness  .
In addition to being available on the MIDI Command, you can try out the new features with a small PC and Mac program that allows you to use the MachineDrum as a synthesizer in conjunction with your PC. This is early software, so please contact me if you have trouble, especially with MIDI. I tested it on macosx 10.5 intel and windows xp sp2 , but seeing how broken midi is everywhere... oO Also, I'm very open for all kind of suggestions. Working on integrating:
- pitch tracking the filter and other parameters
- mapping velocity to other parameters
- crossfading sounds
- making unmelodic machines melodic, for example playing filtered noise by contorlling the filter pitch, or for example retrig on specific sounds.
