As the rainy season approaches here in Portland, Coco and I have been brainstorming the rebirth of Aleatoric. It's been about a year since we had our last monthly, and since Caleb moved to Italy, a new Apotheke is not in the picture. Details have not been set in stone, but here's what we've got cooking ...
1) Someday Lounge will be the new location. I really feel their sound system will be the best to support our ambient soundscapes. I just played a show like 9 days ago there, and really enjoyed it.
2) Once again, it'll be a monthly event on a Friday or Saturday. 3 live PA ambeint/downtempo/chill experimental artists per show. I'll mix between acts during the setup/tear down
3) Keeping it low in cover, but enough to pay the artist performing. ~$4
That's all we got so far. Once we get things solidified, we'll be constructing lineups and looking for artists to join us once again.
I loved Aleatoric at Apotheke, and I'm sure the transition to Someday Lounge will more than satisfy my want for a chill location with ace sound and quality drinks to relax to. More info to come ...

I am so glad that this event will be welcomed back with open arms. It was Mike and I's baby and we really wanted to keep it going for the long run. So after accepting a booking (assistant) position at Someday I am happy to announce that Aleatoric will be my first in many projects that I will start there. In addition I hope to bring more out of town artists too! Be on the look out!

Oh and some people I would love to see play: Masmod (I miss him! we totally need him to come back) and Strategy. I always wanted to see if he would be interested in coming to Aleatoric but I kinda felt intimated. Maybe I will give it a shot this time!
