so i'm trying to fix up a rhodes piano and one bonus feature additional to outputting notes it outputs arabic music and hourly news casts.
admittedly this music isn't bad, and getting the news while i play is informative to say the least... but I'd prefer to remove this feature.
anybody have advice about getting rid of radio noise in a rhodes, or in a guitar (the pickup and guts are the same principal)?
I've been trying using alum foil with minimal results, am considering getting some copper shielding foil but am not to sure where to place it.

you could try a "hum elemator" (which is just a transformer)
you could try lifting the ground on anything connected to it.
you could try removing any dimmers you have in your room for your lights.
you could try running everything off a balanced power setup with everything grounded in a star configuartion.

or you could just get used to it and consider it "character" ;)
srsly, jdg's got it covered w/how to get rid of the hum. only other thing i could think of would be to find a rhodes guru to sort it out by upgrading modifying the innards of it.

i know, i know... "character", i'm such a hypocrite
ok, these tips totally helped, i was actually powering it from a separate preamp... and THAT'S where the problem was... moved the preamp, and no voices!
I was thinking it was the piano acting as an antenna that was doing it, but you're right, it was in the electronic part...
awesome!!

you must have two separate circuits in your room
i say, pick one, and then run everything from that. unless u knkow for a facdt that they're all the same circuit

huh, why would that be?
It's likely that i have 2 separate circuits in the room, but why would that be the cause of radio frequencies?
Do you have a phd in "how 2 circuit rooms absorb radio signals n' stuff" ?

I wish I could help, but I live near a radio tower and the same thing happens to me. half of the day it's a sports station, then it switches to a religious format.
