when i used to record on a reel to reel 4 track a few times when i was moved in the perfect position i got full signal taxi radios in my headphones. It was so clear that i even tried talking back to them though my mic. They ignored me though.

the only thing that ever came through my buddy's setup was truckers telling him he had a purdy mouth and soft skin...not really it was talk radio.

in high school we used to jam at my buddy's parents house. it was across the street from an am tower that would broadcast religious programming 24/7. every time we cranked up the amp on clean we would hear preachings on jesus. eventually we found the sweet spots in the house where interferenfcce would be at a minimum. we found that the orientation made a bigger difference than location... ie. keep it in the same spot but just turn the face of the amp 90 degrees.
