--> in between crushing bolts of depression delivered by the titanium grip of global capital and resounding through the mechanism of hollywood, which finally vibrates to a gnaw within the hamlet of my contracted pro tools HD rig, in between that and molasses sleep cushioned by animals, i have achieved a persistent goal of mine.

i can play a 60/4 rythym. finally. in doing this, it's as much of a revelation as i thought it would be. there are at least 6 ways to hear the same pattern. 20 made linear over a 3, 15 made linear over a 4, and 12 made linear over a 5. and the opposites.

a true skull fuck. only possible by walking a half hour to the bus every day. thanks world.

now i can get it tatooed on my leg. should have done it 10 years ago so i wouldn't have to keep writing it down:/

Astroid that example made me have a bowel movement. You should warn people.

too late

you've discovered teh brown noise algorhythm...i pooped myself too.

In all seriousness though I saw this exact same thing done on that kids show cyberchase the other day...is that how you figured it out?

i can't hear the sound of kids shows over the din of my ejaculations

now learn to do floating time sig changing!

I would pay money to watch you walk to the bus, twitching erratically, making obscure clicking and slapping noises, maybe the occasional rhythmic thrust when you "get into it". Tripping over stuff, running into people....

It would be sweet.

Perhaps you should write a primer for would-be 60/4 players. I'd be interested. Or perhaps one already exists?

you did what to a 10 year old who now?
quit ripping off my hilarious jokes mlbutt

I was trying to improvise in 3/4 2/4, I don't know what the technical term is, but simultaneously, like with equal length bars. So it breaks down into 6's like this:

0xLRLx0 ; L: left hand ; R: right hand; x: neither; 0 both (the downbeat).

I also got 3/4 and 4/4 going, that breaks down into 12's thus:
0xxLRxLxRLxx

If you could do something like 5/4 and 7/4 that'd be awesome!
0xxxxLxRxxLxxxRLxxxxLRxxxLxxRxLxxxx

(I think I'll just write a patch that'll do it for me.)

peds

no, there's no manual for playing triple polymeter. there's scant little for those who want to play double polymeter. much of it tends to focus on afrocuban music, and west african music, most of which is transmitted orally.

im just gonna try to spend the next bit of my life composing music in those meters. that's a better primer anyway than a bunch of blablblablabla

eyenine, the term is 'polyrhythm'. that's exactly what im talking about

ok make a track made entirely of mario samples and call it "super mario 60/4" somebody might appreciate that.

mario 60/4 is a good game

so.. all of this heady technical navigation of polymeteric manipulation will one day deposit you somewhere between Gabon and Cameroon, Senegal and Nigeria?

Gabon music.. MMMM way ahead of all of us.
