I loved speedy's 90s stuff a lot. But, why'd he get so deep in crap 4 / floor shit in recent years? Sooooo boring...

ive hardly heard any of his newer stuff since about 2000 when i ran out of money to buy music- the old tracks i know of his i think are quite cool
4/ floor isn't the problem and should never be. It's just if you're going to do it... DO IT!!! Don't dance around the fact. BANG IT !!!
I really do think his old stuff doesn't stand the test of time... Just like Incunabula. What I call early 90's "So you made a slow 4 chord melody and I'm supposed to believe your now pachelbel now" techno. What is his claim to fame? Pullover is his only actual dance "classic" (the first true "whistle techno" song) ugh... it it can't be that yet it prolly should be. So it just cause he's one of the lucky few to have an early warp release? Or is it a trance roots thing with him? Like Bjork and Sven Vath fame? I fucking hate how journalism works. It's all just names and bullshit. I have an eye for it. I mean .. why else would bands like Animal Collective be that popular. Despite if you are an atheist or not.. some people are just weak and like to "believe in believing". dpmtl - got a job for me? ;) btw - not really hating. bet he's a nice guy. I just dont' see where he really fits. I always thought +8 got a bit of "undue attention". So much better stuff out there that gets labeled as "stupid" and that's a shame.

" you had me snorting my soda with this one. <Speedy J is merely the conductor (but he’s fine with that)> if he wouldnt, he would be a miserable sod wouldnt he, twas his idea in the first place. journalists like this to me equal pollution. noisy streets, idiotic commercials on tv, bad bad architecture and the sorts. i think hes going to be more than just the conductor- hes likely to process and edit all the sounds he gets and hell be actually writing the tunes even if the phrases are made by others
