hey i've been really busy last weeks... worked a lot and got a new job as a studio engineer (kind of...) and beat maker for cheap young rappers in a community center.
so, as i worked, i've got some money and... you know how it is: i want some new music gear. so know , i'm in front of hard choices to make. i'd like to buy a clavia Nord Electro 61 or 73 keys, 'cause i'd really like to play again some piano, maybe with a band... but i'd like to to buy a Clavia G2 as well, or something more "electro" ... there is that Machine Drum too... nice peace of gear... dunno really... it's hard to decide. help me ! the g2 will do everything from piano/rhodes/hammond to synth drums and is a also a great fx processor. i cannot say enough good things about them. only thing beware of is - if you are using vista the editor currently doesnt work on it (tho there is a workaround)
they've recently been discontinued so i'd try to pick one up asap while you can still find one ;) i always thought you were more an MPC kinda guy

i don't see how a G2 can emulate a really nice rhodes, it sounds like hours of patching ! thx KidQuaalude, i think you helped me Tylth: i'm not a MPC kinda guy at all. don't really like the MPC clavia recently changed distributor (after 15 years) in the uk. this was at the same time i was trying to get a hold of an expansion card for my g2, the company i was trying to buy the card from had to wait until clavia had switched distributors to get the new price list...once it came they were not on the list and the official line from the distributor was "the entire g2 range has been discontinued so we cant get any more". i managed to get a hold of an expansion from thomann in germany but they have now sold out and many online music places appear to not be stocking g2s anymore either (its also listed on amazon as discontinued)

The G2 will do a beautiful DX-style FM Rhodes (and it will only take minutes of patch downloading), but it won't get you into the same Rhodes territory as the Electro would.
I'm not trying to talk you out of it though. I'm a G2 lover as well. got equity?

small timers can get $600 per beat oh it's cheaper for me. i have a contract... so i work part time, don't sell the beats really. i just started a week ago so i will be able to tell you more in a few days ;)
oh and... a mpd24 (which i have) + ableton live replace a nice mpc
it's a really boring blog... sorry folks.
