Electronic Music other: Non synth focused music
Store
Written December 03 2008
I have a question about posting music here.
I've been a member here for over a year now, and I've posted a few of my electronic tracks, but lately I've been creating some indiegaze type songs. I just made up that word - indiegaze. They're guitar / vocal based, but everything else is synth created.
So, I was wondering, is it ok to post some of those songs here? I know of a few others who do (Fredo, for example and his songs are great), but I was wondering what is the general feeling of doing this - seeing that the focus of em411 is electronic music.

i'd say most definitely ... as long as they're recorded electronically that is... don't post no images of musical scores, or grammaphone vinyl.

where i come from (nova scotia) it's single negatives that are actually positives... double are the norm.

I've never posted synth stuff...
Well, the difference between a sampler and synth is really small when you start messing around with it. So maybe I post all synth stuff, it just doesn't sound like it so much.
Whatever, post it. The worst that could happen is we ostracize you from the community.

im really closed minded and usually only want to hear very electronic stuff with beats - if im reading release info and i see the words 'guitar' or 'vocal' its likely to put me off listening- but i hardly listen to any stuff here anyway these days
post whatever you like- i probably wont listen to it whatever it is but others will

i've done pieces combining samples of sitar, tambura, santoor, muslim chants, sax, flute and other "real" instruments with electronics and western beats.
it sounds similar to what you're doing. i thought this was called "acoustic-electronic" genre.
but anything with electronic music in it should be okay to post here IMO.
