I don't think I've ever met a single person that took offense to "Merry Christmas". And I don't see how "Happy Holy Days" is any more neutral.

Actually, a pessimist might consider that statement to be enforcing the cultural bias towards happiness.
And a partisan might consider an unaffiliated time frame to be exclusive to their beliefs. Maybe consider saying something less politically charged, maybe "It's An Arbitrary Annual Time Frame", "It's December" or "Hello". merry fucking christmas!
