hey all.

got a bunch of new toys for christmas including a gakken sx-150 and a beautiful teac 4 track reel to reel. i decided to mod the gakken guitar style because i had some extra wood and some sensors lying around. it came out very nice i think.

the ribbon i used is here
it doesn't recognize pressure (although it's sensitive enough that pressing down creates a subtle vibrato because of finger width)

but they do sell long pressure pads that you could possibly layer with the ribbon....
Pressure -> volume would be nice...it'd make it very ondes-martenot like.
That is a great simple mod!

Well done.
nice reel to reel
yay! i got a gakken sx-150 for crimbo too. was wondering how i might mod it...now i know hope that's cool with you. ha.

also, i didn't know where to get ribbon controllers from...now i do. hope they ship to the UK.

thanks x2 and well done on you mod - cool stuff!
boo hoo. $65 shipping to UK. best try to find one over here. have tried and failed in the past - especially a nice long one like that.
yoy. if anyone is interested in getting these parts in the UK....try this lot : link
startwav - do you have a webpage, i want to go back and hear some of your tracks, i remember some of them, i loved them, its the type of music that you put on repeat for a very long time...anyhow, hope all is well
