Electronic Music other: a thing a day (new art blog)
Written January 21 2009 , Tags: blog, art, music, photography, sonicbirt
I know i've been pretty bad at posting new things on this site over the last year... but i thought i'd let people here know about a new internet endeavor. Last week i put together a new site/blog for a year-long project that i am starting. My goal is to post a creative expression daily--music, field recording, photography or something else, and to do this every day for a year. We'll see how it goes! My hope is that it will be a creative catalyst for me to get things done this year.
Feel free to stop by and check on my progress (and comment if you'd like). So far i have five entries.
It's called DUST BREEDING and you can find it here...
Hope you're all well.
I will definitely keep an eye on this. i had a similar idea about music and sound design only, but never just sat down and decided to do it.
good job so far, keep it going!...bookmarked!
bookmarked! good luck man! good goal
This is really great! Good luck! I'm doing something similar, trying to upload every day to freesound.org. And I'm not doing a great job already. So I hope you do better than I can.
yoyo - good stuff! i did similar last year with my scribble diary : link - still need to finish the scanning in (done about half) before I can show the final piece.
i've started the same this year but on a grander scale - nice moleskine page a day diary, more advanced and varied techniques etc.
will keep an eye on your site, fo shiz ;) good lucks!
this is such a great idea!
i hope it will be motivation enough for you to stay creative.
i also have this "concept" of doing something creative everyday. but i don't plan to share the outcome on the internet, because it also includes boring stuff like playing the guitar for 3 minutes or writing stupid "poetry"...

can't wait to see it.
may i steal your idea? i'd love to make a scribble diary too. oh god what an inspiring em411 blog
ha. glad you like astroboy!
one of the scribbles i (nearly) did last year was something like "don't get too excited about your ideas, someone has had them before".........so yeah, almost certainly not my idea to protect. have fun with it!!...and share the results, would love to see what you get up to
fantastic marc... i'm going to keep this amoung my open tabs in my browser and check it every day.
speaking of great art blogs that are open in my tabs, this is one of my fav:
sAMsKi, that's awesome. please let me know when it's up.
thanks for the kind words everyone. it's very encouraging. you guys are the best.
adcBike, i still need to dig up that moog for you and check out it's parts. i'll take pics of it and send them to you so you can see if you are up to the challenge.
Good for you, marc.
It reminds me of Jerry Seinfeld's idea of not breaking the chain: link
agreed - peeps here are the bestest.
mapmap: will surely let you and others know when i have finally scanned it all in and put it live. quite an epic job but i'm treating it a bit like the diary itself, one step at a time...the old AA mantra / Jerry Seinfeld idea - ha
good luck with your stuff man - really interesting so far! looking forward to seeing it in 300+ days!! keep it up.

double duty it and post them as one of your blogs!
Already subscribed! I love the idea of documenting daily creativity. It's inspiring. I know some days I feel like I can't force any idea out of my head and onto paper/hard disk/film/etc, maybe seeing someone else doing it on a dialy basis will motivate me!
if other people start doing this too, maybe we can make it contest to see who keeps it up the longest... like art-blog survivor.
ha! do i have a year head start for my scribble diary? i am at 387 days in a row so far...
