yea so just a fair warning to any one thinking about getting a blofeld.. they do sound great but they screw up a whole lot. I just wanted a versatile multi-timbral instrument to work with. As soon as I start sending automation on more than one midi channel it goes haywire and starts automating whatever it feels like. There are plenty other lesser but still annoying things about it.. like I can't use the usb cause it introduces a huge amount of noise in to the outs..

don't get one. i'm really getting fed up with companies focused so much on putting out as much stuff as they can instead of ironing bugs out of what they make. I reckon waldorf is too concerned with there next planned release.. can't remember what it's called.

i dunno, guess i will resume trying to get my hands on a g2. . that is if novamusik will give me my money back instead of an exchange which is what their website says they do.

and yes i got the latest os update.. 1.11
yeah cuz clavia is way more hands-on about the g2

[shoots self in face]
i still like mine. at least they upload an update every couple of months. that's more than most companies do.
now there's even a decent multi-mode. and sampling coming soon.
to me a decent multi-mode would allow you to automate multiple parameters at once on different channels.
finding out that the hardware that you've been dying to get doesn't do what you want/need it to do really sucks.
I had the same problem w/ the eg-101...just didn't do what i needed and what it did do it kind of sucked at...
i've had the same USB noise issue as you - never tried automation on more than one channel tho. tbh - i don't think it really works as a multi-timbral synth because the summing is so awful anyway. a lot of hardware synths have problems with automation i think. it might not be waldorf's fault - it could be a problem with midi in general, it's a pretty old protocol now.
i'm thinking about getting a virus.. are they stable?
i've seen my mate crash his virus b a fair few times. he seems to treat it as beating the synth tho
I'm bummed that the vintage market has gone up so much in price in the last few years, and the new market is producing a lot of buggy products. How about the DSI Mopho?
What did Waldorf tell you when you wrote them with this problem?

How many things are you trying to automate at once?
I'm not too fond of my blofeld either, but I needed something small and polyphonic, so it'll have to do.
I'd been curious about the Blofeld... but really didn't care for the interface/midi options (I like thru's on my equipment). Sorry to hear about that though... that's sucky. I hope you can return or something. If not, pester Waldorf. I would - but do be specific about what and how many things your sending it.
about the automation.. i was automating, maybe 3 basic things on channel 1, like filter cutoff and glide amount and mod wheel amount.. and then on channel 2 i try to automate filter envelope attack and it starts giving seemingly random amounts to the envelope amount and distortion amount. WTF.. majorly stupid.. i tried sending the midi from my firebox and then from my mmt4, both did the same thing. so yea, i wasn't even pushing it at all. I'm not going to overlook this because i'm sure i will have more annoying problems later on.
