I'm playing out in seattle for chipfest on march 15. I've been working on my set and trying to figure out what to do. My stuff is very minimal a gameboy with a nanovoice cart for my sound source and a lot of fx (mostly delays).

what i'm playing is pretty simple. my effect chains tend to be more complex than my music at times. what i'm doing also doesn't lend itself to catchy songs its very minimal and ambient at best.. damn repeative at worst.. i know my gear pretty much inside and out i plan on having some extra sound sources to break things up.. a nanoloop cart and most likely my DS with some stuff loops and stuff to play on proteinDS sp-404 that i need to load some samples off the TV..

i'm pretty nervous about it though.. but not that the audience won't like but that i won't be able to get into and play for every long.. i just see myself getting bored with my music after 10 minutes and wanting to stop.. the thought of which is getting me really nervous..

umm yeah.. mostly this blog is to say that out loud.. feel better now..

that's why i can't play chiptune or minimal... if you get tired of the set you gotta just bang into the next thumpin track.

bleeps and clicks don't make me want to dance.

but good luck.
Oh hey, wait, wha.....where is this Chipfest you speak of? Because I'll totally go to that, and I haven't heard anything about it yet.

link here's the stuff
if YOU (the performer) are getting bored with your music after ten minutes or so then you can guarantee THEY (the audience) were bored after five minutes. how can you keep the music engaging all the way through? minimal can be the shit if organized well. knock it down!
hey great luck, !
