found a cz-5000 today and grabbed it.. seemed pretty cool.
headphone jack was a tad noisy but whatever..
then it started turning itself on and off.. i was looking through the PDF of the manual so i didn't notice at first. i'd turn back and my work would be gone and it'd be on a different patch, odd for sure. then i heard the clicking and looked and it was turning it self off and on.. i unplugged it made sure that the plugs where all in nice and secure like.. and it was fine, for a bit.. then it did it again. and again and again. tried a different spot on the power stripe, no good. tried a different power cord. again no good.
what a bummer. good thing is i bought it from a local store that is pretty cool so hopefully i'm not ass out on this.

My first guess is a cracked circuit board, but I don't know if the transformer is on the board for that one. Best to just get a refund.

Could it be a short in the power cable or something?

it has a built in power supply.. i tried a couple of different power cords and plugged it into a different outlet in the house to see if that was the problem..
the place i bought it from is a repair shop so they're going to take it apart and let me know what they find out..
bummer but at least they're cool
