Electronic Music other: warner exec blooper
Store Written May 09 2009

22. april, Even (18), a norwegian student, posted this on Twitter (my translation):

"I´m pissed off now. iTunes Music Pass for Dave Matthews bands new album is only valid in USA. Thats just so typical. Don´t complain about piracy!"

A few minutes later, Warner Music Norway rec exec Terje Pedersen replied (my translation again):

"Well then i suggest you steal it and then brag about the process in your brat/crap/stupid kid/punk blog. Don´t want you to be angry."

well way to go there mr rec exec! Nice way to treat people/"customers" and display your wiew of the world.

cnet has written about it too:

Ooops.

Someone didn't have their meds that morning
lol
nobody wins. i love it.
yeah, perfect reflection of a very sick, ailing industry. Sux bigtime.
this is the music exec equivalent of "get off my lawn" or "if your ball goes in my yard you owe me 10$"

there's just something about millionaires complaining about their customers who made them millionaires that makes me think they should get punched in the face.
oh and from now on I'm "stealing" music just to spite these assholes...hey the guy just gave us permission as long as we blog about it right?
Dave Matthew's is terrible.
haha pwnd. The recording exec was more entertaining than the whining student.

lol dave matthews
Whenever I hear DM, I think about his little accident where they released the sewage in his bus over some bridge and DM shit sprayed all over the boats underneath. Priceless ...

+1
the record exec and the whining student were both more entertaining than dave matthews
Well, obviously this isn't a popular sentiment, but I think Dave Matthews is a very talented song writer and lyricist. In my opinion his arrangements are tacky, but when you hear his music played on just acoustic guitar it's filled with strong ideas and honesty. The first Dave Matthews I heard was that live album with Tim Reynolds. I was an instant fan... until listening to the actual studio albums from which the songs came. It was very depressing to have such well written songs dressed up like that. Anyway, I think he's a popular target who's actually under-rated here, imo.
+1 Fredo - Glad someone else thinks so too. Considering all the talentless manufactured pop acts out there Dave Matthews really isn't terrible.
I did like the Tim Reynolds album when it came out as well, and I heard he's not a bad guy from a friend in Seattle who sells him coffee, but his studio albums are terrible imo.
