I've been through a lot of the monomes (40h, then a 256 and finally a downgrade to a 128) thus far and really do love them. Lately though, I haven't been using mine for much else other than playing my stuff live (via MLR). Bounce all my individual bits down and I got just go at'r. Though, when it comes to composition, I tend to never bring it out for some reason.

What do you use your monome for?

Recommend apps you know and love!

Here is my list

1) MLR (haven't fiddled with the max 5 version very much still)

some really awesome renditions of this application. check the monome forums for more.

2) boiingg

great for when you're tired of jamming on keys or clickin' the mouse.

3) muon

for when you come home from work and you really don't wanna "think" when you make your music.

anyhoo, i just looked at the current list of apps and the list is ginormous. hope to hear from y'all (map, cc, adc etc)

I'm still in the process of building mine (arduinome) and adding other bits to it like lcd screens rotary encoders and faders. I've been building my own live control application for ableton for a while now.

Details here: link

I also quite like flickering lights, and 7up live, not got to grips with mlr yet!
hehe, this blog sure didn't get much attention.
I make homade cookies with mine.
