Electronic Music other: Cineastic moments
Store Written June 08 2009 , Tags: iPod, Public transpor, random
I love those moments:
I'm commuting to work, sitting on the train and listening to my iPod on random. Watching out of the window and staring into grey morning, it seems the music player just spits out one droney ambient tune after another. Mostly the glacier like 12k kind of type.
Then we enter the central station, where I need to change trains. The doors open, waves of people finding their ways to the stairs and escaltors. That moment the music switches to drexciya providing the futuristic soundtrack to this packed and mechanically moving place.
Just wanted to share this moment

iPod intelligence
You know, that got me thinking as to how one could engineer this to happen deliberately, analogus to how computer game music switches from exploring to combat, etc. One thought that occured to me is a motion sensor in the modified ipod-like device. It would switch to a faster genre based on the tags in the music files. Sitting == drone, getting up fast, moving about == techno.

Well, it's called imagination and adaptability, but don't tell Steve Jobs that.
