a while ago on old em411 there was a thread called 'caring for your introvert' or something. i thought it was really interesting and started to read quite a bit about psychology/personality types etc etc as a result of that thread....so whoever started it(mpg??maybe)....thanks
i really cant remember the test it linked to so it could even be this one, but i dont think it is. i came across quite a few different personality tests when i was reading different sites...some are better than others.
a nice simple one is this jung typology test which i found to be very accurate. its based on the jung myers-briggs typology
i tried this test quite a few times over the following months....when i was in different moods and at different times of the day to see if the results were any different. every time the result has been the same.
when i first did the test i found some questions to be vague or too broad and didnt know weather to put 'yes' or 'no'. but then i started to notice things about myself and the way i think, after doing the test once or twice, that made the questions make more sense. so if you think WTF?? at a certain question try thinking of it in a general context.
at the end of the test you are given four letters.....this is your 'personality type'. there are also a few links to pages describing the traits and behaviours of your personality type and why you behave certain ways.
i also put my personality type into google....that came up with some really interesting results too. the most detailed and accurate i found to be this one... link
id be very interested to know what you all are. and i think some of you will find this interesting too.
room?
here is a link to the test again link
if you want to find out more about your personality type id suggest just googling your four letter code after you complete the test. some pages even go into details of what music people with a certain personality type are most likely to enjoy.
make for some good reading!

They value intelligence, knowledge, and competence, and typically have high standards in these regards, which they continuously strive to fulfill.
I do value such things, but I am far too lazy to continuously strive to fulfill my "high standards". Seriously.

INFJ - counsellor! but i'm a clinical psychologist!
The Counselor Idealists are abstract in thought and speech, cooperative in reaching their goals, and directive and introverted in their interpersonal roles. Counselors focus on human potentials, think in terms of ethical values, and come easily to decisions. The small number of this type (little more than 2 percent) is regrettable, since Counselors have an unusually strong desire to contribute to the welfare of others and genuinely enjoy helping their companions. Although Counsleors tend to be private, sensitive people, and are not generally visible leaders, they nevertheless work quite intensely with those close to them, quietly exerting their influence behind the scenes with their families, friends, and colleagues. This type has great depth of personality; they are themselves complicated, and can understand and deal with complex issues and people.

Okay, I believe it now...This totally happened to me as a kid.. I remember my sister getting very mad at me and screaming "HE ISN'T REAL!!!". I still do this, only now I can draw so imaginary people don't get me into trouble (much).
from link
INFP children often exhibit this in a 'Calvin and Hobbes' fashion, switching from reality to fantasy and back again. With few exceptions, it is the NF child who readily develops imaginary playmates (as with Anne of Green Gables's "bookcase girlfriend"--her own reflection) and whose stuffed animals come to life like the Velveteen Rabbit and the Skin Horse:

A little bit of advanced MBTI knowledge:
If you find your percentages close to 0, it may be more accure to substitute that letter with an "X". Some people are just in the middle. Some people are situational about certain things.
For instance, I'm more of an XNTP.

I've been really into this for about a year and I find myself categorizing people all of the time. It's fun.
The whole idea of whether it's your destiny (nature vs. nurture) is very interesting.
I've found that I'm becoming more F than T as I get older (developing my emotional side).
I have a lot of INTP pride however. I like being an INTP and it's something to identify with in my impressionable youth.

And that online Jung test is not an official MBTI test. You can pay money and take the real test at testing centers.
