i'm working on a video for a little installation/sculpture that will be going in here at a gallery in tacoma next month, thought it would be fun to share:
EDIT: just uploaded a much higher quality .divx version so you non-mac users can see it...

this is just some frigidaire commercial I found on archive.org, with my music slapped on top, haha.
we're going to have it playing on some old portable TV I have, with a bunch of other found art type stuff arranged in a certain way, but we haven't set that all in stone yet.

Nice track, it rolls nicely and the visuals strangely compliment the audio too.
There's a subtle 1950's "what will the future entail/nuclear" vibe with both the music and video.
Here's an abstract idea, instead of using a portable TV, why not project the short film onto a fridge?
oh, whats the theme of the installation?

Also, how long of a dance routine can you have to appliances?
Weird.

Haha, didn't women in the 1950's behave that way in the kitchen?

thanks guys. yeah roshi, I was amazed when I saw this video... I couldn't believe how elaborate the appliance dance was either.
cool idea about the fridge fora. I think we are a little too far along to mess with that, but I tink it would be cool to play with the idea of projections on different surfaces at some point.
The theme of the installation is kind of strange... it's going to be in a show called "seven deadly sins" here in tacoma, and we were assigned the theme of 'envy.' We are taking a lot of liberties with it, but if someone asks, I will use my bullshitting skills (the only thing I learned in school). So far, the main idea is a fur-covered box with a TV inside and a golden indonesian puppet watching the video, haha. Oh yeah, and there will be holographic vinyl inside the box, like this stuff...

that's not the TV we'll be using though, I think we'll be using hulbert..

at first they were going to call the company stonedland but then realized it would be too obvious.
