Well this was an unexpected surprise.
Korg have announced a new version of their DS-10 software for the Nintendo DS, "DS-10+" !
New additions incude recording of track mutes and realtime tweaking while in song mode. Also, if you have a Nintendo DSi you will be able to use double the voices of the DS-10, so 4 synths and 8 drums as opposed to the 2 synths and 4 drums. This seems strange to me as I thought the DS and DSi were running on the same-speed CPU? Don't let me find out they're short-changing DS/DSLite users!
Anyway, cretainly looks like a promising upgrade to DS-10. I didnt really use the original because I felt it was a little lacking (esp. in song mode - being unable to tweak while a song was playing was a deal-breaker for me). I just hope that they have upped the number of available patterns or at least allowed the patterns to be longer than 1 bar in length. This annoyed me in the original program too, I saw no reason for having so few patterns available to the user.
Anyway, I look forward to checking this out on release and its very encouraging to see Korg supporting the DS/DSi. I hope they come up with a few companion products in the near future.
