My band Chandeliers has a new release. It's something I've always wanted to do. It's a collection of nearly lost recordings.

You see, when we practice, we try to record as much as possible. Just one mic in the middle of the room into a tascam. So when one member goes to take a whizz and some spontaneous moment happens... it's caught on tape. Or if a member is out of town we have something to show them.

The release is called Dirty Moves, it's only on cassette but we should be getting vinyl in the mail any minute now. It looks like a CD will be coming out in the future as well. (UK only)

For now, you can scroll down on our blog and hear the whole A side for free. Also below that, a friend of ours (Mark Brown) in Baltimore made his own video mix that features some tracks on side B.

My fav is at 17:11. It's a fake jazz song called "Taste of Cherry"
Vinyl is from US. on the label HBSP2X

There should be some stores where you could buy it online, but they would probably be local chicago stores. So you'd have to do shipping and all that. Red Vinyl!!

I'd love to have some sort of german connections.
fucktastic
Love it!

The music and the video are great art!

I liked Taste of Cherry and especially the two preceeding tracks. Did you record these with the one room mic?
The one before is called "Baker Bros" that's just 2 takes strung together. Recorded with just a SM58 into a digital Fostex on that. Before that is "Pharoh's fury". That one honestly is a bit of a hybrid. Cheesy panflute added to the begining, some beer bottles, and Scott's angel vocals added at the end.

Most are 1 SM58 into a Tascam 414. But some are Fostex VF08. And others are Tascam tracks dumped to computer with some overdubs. lil bit of cheatin... shh.
woooooowwwweeeee - top drawer. really exciting sound you have!
WOW!!!
this stuff is amazing... love it!!
Great stuff indeed!
Fucking YEAH!
