looks like not so many new features to me.
too soon!?
or perhaps are they trying to dumb it down for guitarists ? or compete with prop'heads 'record' It is a great value. I would gladly pay $500 for the package if Space Designer, Sculpture and the Guitar amp modules were AUs that I could use in Live. This lock in bullshit with the instrument suite is absurdist coming from the company that implemented the plugin standards and open APIs. Utter garbage policy that keeps people from using their stuff. Too bad.
"A huge leap forward for guitar players"
what's a guitar? "Multimapping of controls"
wow. not like people have been asking for this forever. bounce in place as well. yay. fucking finally. overall looks pretty good. but i think there's still a place for DP in my life. what?????? "Minimum requirements to install all applications Mac computer with an Intel processor" no PPC support?????????????????!?!?!!!!!!!!!!!! that's a lot of poops.
n9 said: "that's a lot of poops." they deserve every one of them! how about a bug fix update for logic 8.0.2???? throw us a bone apple. i mean.. if i'm stuck on the current version becuase i'm gonna stick w/my PPC machine a bit longer then they could at least make work mo betta. i think they prepare everything for intel only with 10.6 being released in september. still – i'm quite a bit underwhelmed by this. feels more like a 8.5 update
yghartsyrt said: "i think they prepare everything for intel only with 10.6 being released in september. still – i'm quite a bit underwhelmed by this. feels more like a 8.5 update" i know snow leopard isn't gonna support PPC macs and that's probably why they didn't bother w/supporting PPC w/logic 9. it's probably ready for a new 64 bit OS/architecture and yada yada... L9 will work on your g5. but not your g4.
bleen said: "L9 will work on your g5. but not your g4." nope. it won't link Note: There is an incorrect reference to PPC support in the Logic Node section of the Logic 9 User Manual. Logic Studio (2009) requires a Mac with an Intel processor. trust me. it will.
bleen said: "trust me. it will." but but but.. speak up then. you obviously know something i/we don't. how was the beta process? ignatius said: " yghartsyrt said: "i think they prepare everything for intel only with 10.6 being released in september. still – i'm quite a bit underwhelmed by this. feels more like a 8.5 update" i know snow leopard isn't gonna support PPC macs and that's probably why they didn't bother w/supporting PPC w/logic 9. it's probably ready for a new 64 bit OS/architecture and yada yada..." i think it's weitd, that they updated this without some big marketing hype or at some conference/exhibition/whatever. it feels a little like "ok let's just sneak this update in and hope the ppc folks won't notice that much." i think ditching ppc for an app like logic really sucks.
