About me
I enjoy building gear as much as I like playing with it. I havn't been creating music for very long, so don't be too hard on my tracks. I dislike the use of computers, and welcome a more hands on approach. Most of my music grows from live improvisational noise. Constructive critism is of course warmly welcomed.
My Gear
The studio consists of several cassette decks, shortwave radios, vinyl players, diy synths, minidisc machines and modified/circuit bent toys. I sometimes use a computer for multitrack recording and effects. Recently, I've enjoyed building some weird MIDI controllers.
Electronic Music other: drums are the shit

I've been playing drums for one year! I think they are wonderful!! During that time I changed from a yahama DTXplorer to a Roland TD-12 and by playing about an hour each day, I've clocked up approx 6.5million hits (the td-12 has no hit counter, this makes me very sad).

wow, great studio man... but you should get your monitors off those drawers
i like how your carpet looks like a drum pad. how did you do the panoramamama?
Nice little setup. (Looks like he spliced together a bunch of photos.)

How do you find the TD12?
Wow! I agree! That room looks like it has a great feel to it. Nice green wall, and the Hello Kitty posters are a bonus. HA!

Drums are super cool. The secret is to play an electric kit though. For me it was easier to play than an acoustic one. Our drummer says it's because an elec. kit is usually smaller / tighter. Which is true. But I also found that I could play quieter, and since I am shy about my lack of drumming skill it didn't make me feel like a doof when I screwed up. :P

Thanks all! I did have the monitors up higher, and sat between them, but I didn't like that much, I now prefer to mix and listen to music from the sofa, and the speakers are at an ideal height from there :P I'll replace the drawers with stands eventually. For now, it's much better than using old PCs (see older studio pics :P

i LOVE the td-12. It's much harder to play than the dtxplorer, cos it's a lot more velocity sensitive, and I had the dtxplorer set up so i didn't have to cross my arms to play the hihat. that's now different and taking some getting used to. But its much more expressive, nicer to hit, much bigger, shinier, sounds better and it's rock solid quality instrument through and through. my _only_ complaint with it so far besides lame presets is that it has no hit counter.

Thanks for the nice comments on the studio, I've worked hard on setting everything up in its right place. The panorama was just a sequence of photos stitched together with Hugin.
Drums are awesome. This looks like an awesome creative space. (I would black out the windows, but that's me; I like the cave-like.)

@fakeblooper - yeah, the room to the right gave me the impression of a tr-626/505 for some reason.
your couch just made me cum in my pants.
how much do you want for it?
i just picked up drums too, but they're actoustic.
I got the whole set for 150 bucks...its just a beginner set but they've only been used like 10 times by a teenage girl..
just missing a crash ride stand.
you should only play drums if you hate the way other people play drums.

also I love the light behind your drums, looks so eighties.... and a fish tank and telescope... great space for creativity
Post some vids of your rockin or something. I want to see that kit in action.
I'm a long way from listenable yet, so maybe next year with the video
