3 days before I'm set to go on tour for a month, my laptop makes THIS sound!!!!! I don't have time to have it repaired so am just going to have to buy a f'ing nother one!!  !!!And, btw, this was a replacement of a lemon which died within 2 weeks, which was a replacement of a lemon which died within 12 month... and I received this replacement in December, so... that makes this lemon number 3! WHY CAN'T APPLE MAKE SOLID HARDWARE??!!! Comments

any chances you get it exchanged at some store? apple is too busy selling phones and music to built proper computer hardware I'm going to try... but it's a pain in the ass because I'd like to be able to move a lot of data before letting go of this creature...ouch indeed. I'd definitely try and throw a tantrum in a mac store and see if you can get it replaced. Should have to go through laptop after laptop like this.

Probably/maybe no use to you... but hope you get yours is fixed in time for tour... Funny ol world of computers [feckin up yer sheet]. Ouch!
Send an email to support AT NOSPAM apple.com, help AT NOSPAM apple.com, sjobs AT NOSPAM apple.com, steve AT NOSPAM apple.com, customerservice AT NOSPAM apple.com, as many addresses as you can think of outlining the urgency of the situation. Tell them you chose apple for reliability and this is an ongoing issue. You are starting to lose faith in their products etc etc. I got a new laptop out of it once, though it wasn't a 3 day turnaround. Good luck! you have incredibly bad luck. . hahha.. hope you get it sorted!

shit kept crashing on me but generally ran well enough, until one day my g3 made a similar sound. i checked the electric wiring in my apartment. turns out the hot and neutral were switched and ground was not even connected! 0 out of 3 correct?!?! in hindsight, i cant believe my setup ran at all!
took me an afternoon to sort out the problems and like 10 minutes to fix. with your ratio of lemons, you may want to seriously consider checking this. if you dont have a meter, testers at home depot are cheap. this website was useful for me: link dont forget to turn off those breakers (and test before you touch!) Well the thing is I've moved four times in the last 2 years, so each lemon had a differnt home...
