About me

I make instrumental pop music, loosley inspired by IDM, new wave, synthpop, and anything else my little head absorbs. Jeskola Buzz is my weapon of choice, warts and all. I just haven\\\\\\\'t found a replacement for some of it\\\\\\\'s more obscure functions, so I\\\\\\\'m sticking with it in all of it\\\\\\\'s 10-year-old, obsolete hexadecimal interfaced glory. Sometimes I play live shows in Seattle (and hopefully elsewhere soon). I also occasionally release music for free online. I love each and every one of you like the precious little snowflakes you are.

Hey kids! The 6th Decibel Festival is just around the corner, Sept. 24th-27th.

As usual, there are some amazing artists in a broad variety of styles (though this year is heavily focused on dub-related styles, from Mad Professor's classic style to modern dubstep). Venues range from clubs to museums to parks, daytime to afterhours.

Anyone coming? What shows are you hitting up? I'm volunteeering again, so I hope to see some of you come out.

Decibel Festival is a non-profit, four-day annual music and arts festival held in Seattle, WA. Founded in 2003, the festival bridges the gap between technology and creativity through visual art, workshops, panel discussions and cutting-edge electronic music performances. By assembling a diverse selection of international talent, Decibel Festival provides a forum for musicians, industry professionals and educators alike.

The core of the festival is comprised of several concerts and live performances presented in a variety of locations throughout Seattle’s hip Capitol Hill neighborhood. In addition to these performance programs, Decibel includes a professional section featuring panels and workshops. Since its inception, Decibel has hosted over 400 acts ranging from underground dance and experimental electronic music to transmedial art.

The 6th Annual Decibel International Festival of Electronic Music, Visual Art and New Media is scheduled for September 24 through September 29, 2009.

I am not coming, but highly recommend checking out William Fowler Collins if you are attending: link
I agree, WFC is great, and a nice guy as well ...
last year's ambient showcase @ the triple door was to die for. Deaf Center, Eluvium, Helios, and that guy from Stars of the Lid. I don't think they'll ever match that again ...
for my money, the ambient showcases usually steal the show.. though there have been one or two other acts i've enjoyed a lot. Proem's set a few years ago was epic. the after parties can be fun if you are in to that. i haven't been in a few years. nothing to really pull me up there.. but they usually do a good job of organizing and generally things are well attended and it's a good time.
The ambient and optical showcases are consistently awesome. If you're going, it's worth at least popping in to some of the showcases that yu're not familiar with as well. Every year, I end up finding something good that I never would have sought out on my own.
stoked
