Hey guys,
just finished this up the other night. only took an hour or so.

link

it's a lot sturdier than you'd think.
works great with the looper in Live.

i bought an old channel changer for an amp that i was going to rehouse the guts of the nanokey in but then i figured i'd try it this way first. if it doesn't last i'll wind up going back to plan A but in the meantime i am loving this!

That's great!
Both innovative and resourceful.
brilliant.
Glad to see Peter posted this on CDM (even if he didn't credit me for sending it to him). ;)
This is so awesome man! Inspiring :-)
Love it! Excellent work!
Nice idea!
Seems like your toy has become famous in several blogs already.
so how do you use this with live? what have you set the buttons to do?
How is this set up, software wise?

Can the buttons be gates? (127 = pressed down, 0 = released) Triggers? (127 = pressed down, no MIDI message on release) Toggles? (pressing down alternates between message values 127 and 0, no message on release)

Can the buttons be assigned to control changes messages, or just note on/note off? What about program changes?

I guess all that stuff can be done with software anyways, even if the nanoPad drivers can't do it.
Looks great! I assume the tape is what holds the wood to the plastic?
thanks everyone!

eyesnine, yeah you can do all of that in the Kontrol editor. i can set it to CC mode and chose different momentary or latching settings... notes... velocity etc...

prugelknaben, i have it controlling the looper in Live. record, reverse, stop, undo + clear. i've also set it up to play + stop clips but i normally use a monome for that.

pppeck, yes, i use that strong foam doublestick tape. pretty great stuff.
awesome! found the CDM link too if anyones interested link
Is that a rug it's on? I hope so, it looks comfy.
