Electronic Music personal: Anyone else doing a daily art/music blog?
Store Written November 26 2009
So Marc (mapmap) has been doing his dustbreeding blog for almost a year now. It is my favorite little corner of the internet, I visit almost daily and am always blown away and inspired by the quality and consistency of his creative output. I really hope he doesn't end it when he hits day 365.

After a few months of talking about it, my wife and I have launched our own daily creative blog. She knits, paints, takes photos, draws, anything she can do and always makes new stuff everyday anyways. I don't. I procrastinate, make excuses and get lost in a world of endless effects tweaking or looking for sounds instead of finishing music very often. I am hoping this will change that and be a catalyst for me actually creating and finishing something other than work a couple of time a week.

You have visit our blog here:

Is anyone else on here doing anything similar? I'd love to find some more of these.

cute blog !!! looking forward for more posts
Looks good!
I wanted to set one up too. I was thinking of using blogger, unless putting it on my own web space is easy enough.

Can you make posts dynamically to your blog, or are you hard coding everything? And how easy would it be for a web nub to set it up dynamically?
i use wordpress on my webspace.

its easy to add new posts, their are plugins to add new fuctionality.

everything is easily edited and updated through a web interface.

IF your host has Fantastico (90% of the hosts do) you can install a wordpress by clicking 3 times in you cpanel

I am just using link for ours. It couldn't be easier, you can upload photos, music, whatever all from the web. I like tumblr because I don't have to bother with uploading photos to flickr or audio to soundcloud then linking it in. Plus it updates my facebook and twitter to let people know what I am up to automagically.

I also found that tumblr has some great themes.
Wow Fredo, the Sad Song cluster is AMAZING!!! Such a great new way to watch one of my all time favorite songs.

I finally got a chance to see The Education of Charlie Banks now that it is out on dvd. Your song was just perfect in it.
Can't beat the tumblr interface and themes. I think that is the way to go.
hey,
you've got an awesome blog started! i hope you keep up with it. i love the idea of doing creative projects with your partner. my wife is my favorite collaborator.
thanks for the kind words re: my own creative blog. i'm still trying to figure out if i will continue past the first year. maybe i'll take a month off and start it up again around my birthday (feb 22nd).
best of luck to you.
Thanks for posting a link, eyesnine. My actual track of the week blog is right here: link

My advice is: pace yourself. Don't think you have to do something massively different everyday or every week. Enjoy the process, and don't think of it ever as work or something you *have* to do; think of it as training your creative muscle.
