Cheers everyone.
It has been a while since I've posted anything but thought I would drop in as I periodically do and give some updates/etc. as far as music & life are concerned.
The past year or so has brought about many changes. After a lot of stressful months of interviews/back and forth travel/etc., I took a job as Web Developer for the American Institute of Architects (AIA) and relocated my girl and I from North Carolina to Washington, DC. Shortly after doing so, the economy's bottom dropped out, and the AIA started laying people off. Thankfully, at the same time that started to occur I was being recruited by Deloitte and am currently employed as Graphic & Web Designer at the National Science Foundation.
Shortly before I left, I finished working on a neo-classical score for a modern dance movie entitled 'White Dress', which you can listen to here:

Moving from North Carolina also meant leaving my band, Last Night in Glasgow. Those guys are still writing great electropop music and it's been good keeping in touch with them. I have a new band here in DC called Feynman (yes, after the physicist). It's an ambient rock project which you can sample here:
Feynman - Live at IOTA
This has been a blast and we are scheduled to go into the recording studio the last weekend in March. It's a great place with an incredible history and gear list: Inner Ear Studio.
After releasing a collaboration album last year with Dominic Dixon (talkingmakesnosense) called Offsets, I was contacted by a dance company from NYC called Palissimo that wanted to use the material for an upcoming site-specific performance at the Staten Island Ferry terminal. I wrote some new music for the artistic director to enhance the Offsets material and to transition between movements (the score is approximately 30 minutes in length). The performance was a great success (written up in the NY Times) and has been performed at several other locations since, including the NYU Skirball Center for the Performing Arts. Here are some links to the free music:

I have also been writing new material w/my girl towards an eventual benefit album in support of the pollinators (butterflies, bees, bats, and birds). All proceeds from sales will be donated to organizations working to preserve and protect these species. We have sketched out tracks for the butterflies and bees so far which you can listen to here:

Last, and certainly not least, a while ago several of you lovely EM411'ers remixed some of my dance scores. A very special thank you to NQ, Drexon Field, Specta Ciera, adcbicycle, talkingmakesnosense, Miniature Airlines, Resynthesize, & Mrs. Jynx for re-envisioning my work. A couple other special remixes will be available soon as a bonus, but for now these mini-EPs are freely available to download here:

So, that's me in an early 2010 nutshell. Thank you all for taking the time to read and/or listen to the work. I greatly appreciate it and wish you all continued success and inspiration.
Peace,
Benjamin
