Electronic Music discussion: Just Get Some Hosting
Store Written June 27 2010 , Tags: duh, genius
So this weekend, my wife comes to me and tells me that the insanely popular wordpress blog she runs got shut down for advertising or something like that. She needed hosting. So we started looking around...and I feel so stupid now for not having gotten proper hosting in the past.
I just moved my music page(deltasleep.net) to hosted wordpress on bluehost.com
I now have "unlimited" space in which to host files and a blog, so I'll be podcasting. Webapp install with most hosting providers is one-click anymore- most of them come with everything you need to get Joomla, Wordpress, Drupal, etc. up and going in a few minutes.
Wordpress is an awesome app and it has been so, so easy get going and customize.
I can't believe I put up with "free" hosting as long as I did! I had constant dead links when free hosts would delete files at random. The website I have up is not much- my last site was really image intensive and I was hoping for something minimalist for awhile so I can focus on content. I had no idea how much about web design I didn't even understand.
So I just thought I'd post and say: if you're thinking about buying hosting, just do it. If you're worried about cost, bluehost is costing me under $10/month including the domain purchase, and they weren't even the cheapest place I looked at.

way more features than i know what to do with but nice and hassle free.
More DIY. We need robots for this stuff.

Infradead, I like your design, How did you get the Sonic Hedgehog map on the flier?
a friend who does pixal art did the flyer for us
