About me
(this is my current press bio, forgive the 3rd person nonsense;))
32 year old french musician, based in Nantes, composer, performer and producer of his music. After a seminal electronic era (1995-2002), Khoral brings melody and songwriting forward for his debut album, Animal Fraud. Produced between 2002 and 2005, distributed in CD and digitally by Wild Palms Music, the record is a mix of influences, sophisticated songs tinged with folk-rock, pop and electro. Two EPs are then released in 2006 : Elevator Songs (MP3, Electronical, 70s styled instrumental music) and Marys Mellotron Song (CDR, Papergoose Records, pop electro). Khoral distanced himself from electronics for his second lo-fi blues album, Black Hole Years (MP3, Acousmatic Records), and its minimalist, gritty sound, based on slide guitar and industrial beats. The third album (Strawberry Blonde, 2007, unreleased) aims to synthesize the various styles of these past works, straying from Animal Fraud cold wave and the electro blues approach to Black Hole Years, using analog sounds and electric pianos in search of a funkier, richer and more accessible record...

Electronic Music promo: New EP : "Life on a Sinking Ship"
Store Written July 02 2010 , Tags: release, pop, electro, khoral, analog
Brand new release!

"Life on a Sinking Ship" is thematically a follow-up to my "Broken Sails" EP.

It is available as a CDR for now, then eventually will also be a digital download (iTunes, etc...)

All songs can be previewed at link

The 5th song has been released today on em411.

"Life on a Sinking Ship" is an intense, lush electronica work, from a most poppy "Colour of Bone" to the fast, faux-punk "Who the fuck are you", on to the hypnotic title track, a couple of vocoder and altered vocals experiments on "In the Clockwork City" parts 1 and 2, and finally the funkoïd prog of "Machines are your Friends".

Miss Roxanne collaborated some gorgeous girlie vocals, and the title song features some Roland SH-1000 playing by Sohcahtoa.

Instruments used : Moog Little Phatty, Prophet 08, Roland Juno-1, Korg Poly-800, Roland D50, Korg Wavestation, Gforce M-Tron, Gforce VSM.

The CDR costs 6€.
